This wood fired red clay stoneware scalloped plate is 6" in diameter. The markings are intentionally made by pressing small balls of clay mixture called "wadding" onto the plate before it goes into the kiln so that when the wadding is removed its absence leaves a pattern. I think it looks like a cartoon face of a bear but I have a very active imagination. SKU# LGW-237-15
